What do you get when you combine the beauty of a venue like Wild Dunes in Charleston, South Carolina and a couple completely smitten with each other? The most charming southern wedding you ever did see, that's what!
Claren was the epitome of classic elegance wearing a simple Justin Alexander gown with a lovely beaded pearl and crystal belt. We loved customizing her a one-of-a-kind silk hair flower with a pearl center accent. The beach scene created the perfect backdrop for this sweet celebration.
This was also one of the first custom sketches we did as a gift to the bride. Check out some of our favorite photos and the hand sketched keepsake!

Just FYI, we have a super fun wedding to share with you today! It is like magic bursting from every image. Marisa was a dream in her modern, striped Hayley Paige gown. We love that she paired our crystal bow "Parker" belt to complete her whole look. What a great group of vendors to make this wedding day one to be remembered.more
It's our favorite thing! Featuring real brides wearing our accessories. This lovely southern bride paired our lace beaded belt "Fallon" with her custom Modern Trousseau dress. The uptown Charlotte wedding was a perfect combination of classic and modern. Ashley and her bridal party got ready in the amazing Bridal Suite & Co., married at the beautiful Myers Park Methodist Church, followed by a reception at the super cool Foundation for the Carolinas.

What a sweet wedding we are showcasing today! Laura got her dress and Whitney Alyssa hair accessory from Hayden Olivia Bridal. The handmade silk organza and lace flower was the perfect complement to her gorgeous Hayley Paige gown. We love seeing how our brides use our accessories to style their wedding day look!
"It is one of the best things to see a wedding day that coincides so beautifully with a couples personality. It could not be more true of Laura and Parker’s wedding and the ease of simple beauty and sweet accents they sprinkled throughout their day. Laura has a soft and easy going way about her, so it was no surprise when she chose this whimsical, romantic Hayley Paige gown to walk down the aisle in. She opted for a delicate, lace hair flower in lieu of a veil and paired...more
Sometimes there are no words that need to be said when the photos do all the talking. It could not be more true in this case. There’s nothing quite like a nod to nature than an outdoor wedding. Captured by Morgan Trinker and surrounded by glorious views, this couple wed in the bride’s hometown in Alabama and kept every detail personalized along the way. Jordan wore a stunning Tara Keely dress with a custom made bolero that she could remove after the ceremony. Adding a Whitney Alyssa sash to finish off the look. The soft color palette of the flowers and bridesmaids dresses were the perfect compliment to this rustic setting. Bringing in chandeliers and old wine barrels, the reception looked as if it were torn from the pages of a...more
We love the spirit of this bride and her unique wedding! She decided to host her wedding day at the Charlotte Whitewater Center where her guests were wowed by the gorgeous scenery. She chose to wear a beautiful lace gown by Modern Trousseau and paired it with her custom Whitney Alyssa beaded hair flower as her "something blue." Here are a few of our favorite shots captured by Old South Studios.more
What a whirlwind this has been! As many of you know, I had the pleasure of working with the incredibly sweet and always beautiful Emily Maynard and daughter Ricki for her surprise wedding. I was asked to write an exclusive blog for Hayden Olivia Bridal (where I worked as their lead consultant) about the process of designing two custom gowns through Modern Trousseau. The wedding was also covered on Style Me Pretty and Emily's blog - I have linked these three below for you to take a peek at ;)more
This wedding is just a sight to see! Set on the beautiful Bald Head Island and shot by the talented Nancy Ray Photography - we are still drooling over these photos! From the color pallet to the personal touches throughout the reception, this was one special wedding.
We were thrilled when Kaycie chose to pair our lovely "Brinley" belt with her gorgeous custom made Modern Trousseau gown. What she didn't know is that mom called us to redesign the hair piece she had worn on her wedding day. It was such a fun surprise to see Kaycie open her gift and now to see her wearing it on her wedding day. Enjoy all the beauty!more
Photos from our brides on their wedding day put the biggest smile on our face! Ann had a modern wedding with clean lines and incorporated gold, coral, and navy details . Her dress was the perfect fit and she personalized it with a Whitney Alyssa "Emma" belt. They had a classic ceremony at St. Philip Neri followed by a stunning reception at The Magnolia Room in South Carolina. Here are a some of our favorites from the big day!

This wedding has so much to love, so you better start preparing yourself right now. Apryl Ann Photographyand Blue Lotus worked to make Danielle and Benjamin’s wedding day a magical event, and it’s a no-brainer to say they had total success.
Danielle came to us with an idea of wanting a hair piece that was made to look like a headband, but wasn't. Everything she found online or in boutiques was not the vision she had - so we designed something just for her! Using vintage elements, old buttons, and even the pieces from the belt that came with her wedding dress, we created a one of a kind piece. This process was so organic and we could not be more excited with the...more
Styled shoots are just our favorite thing. Yes, they take a lot of time and effort - but when results like these turn out, it is hard to argue it wasn't worth it! We were so thrilled when Crystal Stokes Photography and The Graceful Host asked to use our accessories to stye this lovely outdoor shoot. Ashley of The Graceful Host put it best when describing the inspiration for the shoot:
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” – Leonardo da Vinci. It is this idea of simplicity that inspired our team to craft an inspiration shoot that highlights the genuine beauty and ultimately, innate sophistication, of a wedding. I wanted to design a wedding that captured...more
Yay! Another styled shoot and this one was published on Southern Weddings! Again, without the list of amazing vendors, it would not be possible. Both Julie from Old South Studios and Ashley with The Graceful Host did an amazing job carrying out their vision of this Mardi Gras inspired shoot. From the bold colors, to the over the top gowns, the attention to authenticity and detail was not left behind.
Thank you for letting us be a small part in your amazing shoot and featuring Whitney Alyssa's "Berklie" and "Lily" belts.more
Stoked to have our latest work published in Charlotte Wedding, the 2014 Winter Issue! My dear friend and photographer, Crystal Stokes was honored with the cover image of the magazine - I mean, really?! I guess that is how you can't take anything for granted - even if it is rain on your wedding day. I mean, I would totally ask for rain if I knew I would get a shot like this out of it!
Whitney Alyssa accessories were sprinkled throughout the issue. Here are the highlights!
*Four of our newly designed belts were featured on the "details" page in the very front of the magazine.
*One of the new vintage necklaces was used to create a modern look in this...more
So excited to finally share this stunning photo shoot I got to work on with the best of the best. I was honored not only to supply the accessories, but to also have styled it! I enjoyed collaborating with other professionals on an initial idea and really watching it come to fruition. The shoot took place at Hayden Olivia Bridal in uptown Charlotte and created the perfect atmosphere for a "glamorous" poker game.
Happy to feature the stunning Amanda on the blog today! She was radiant in her wedding gown, designed by Anna Maier. The gorgeous crystal accent at Amanda’s waist complemented the hair ornaments hand- designed by Whitney Alyssa. We created three different hair pieces for her and her two flower girls made from vintage jewelry elements. Enjoy!

We just love when our stores send us photos of their beautiful brides! A Little Something White Bridal Boutique sent these photos of Stephanie from her fall wedding which was held at the New Haven Lawn Club. She is wearing Judd Waddell Beatrice along with a Whitney Alyssa hair comb.
Our favorite quote from the bride, "Here is a photo with my beautiful hair piece that I got! And I received tons of compliments on that accessory!"

So excited to learn that this stunning inspirational shoot was published on The Lovely Find! Here are some of my favorites that really spotlighted our accessories!
Thank you to the amazing vendors that helped make this happen :)more
I was approached by a bride-to-be about reconstructing her grandmothers "veil crown." Unsure of what to expect, I said I would take a look and see what I could do. To my surprise, I was faced with a piece I have never seen before. The crown was made with flowers dipped in a pearl enamel along side rhinestone clusters. I was excited of the possibilities when I started to disassemble it.
Shannon expressed to me that she not only wanted one hair accessory for herself, but two additional for her younger sisters. This heirloom is so special to both her and her grandmother, but she just wanted to give it, "some new age flare." It was so much fun to watch the transformation from the old to the new. We are excited to see Shannon's wedding photos, but in the meantime, here are some of...more
Thank you to Charlotte Wedding for the wonderful feature in their Spring 2013 issue! We are delighted to be included in the pages of this lovely magazine.
"Add a playful elegance to wedding day tresses with a hair comb from local label Whitney Alyssa. Each piece is hand made by Whitney Parker, former assistant to a couture wedding gown designer and now a familiar face at uptown bridal shop Hayden Olivia Bridal. Shimmering beaded blooms give bridal whites a dainty dash of color and feel quintessentially like spring. From dahlias to carnations, Parker turns out a seemingly endless array of hairpins and...more
We are so excited to finally announce that Whitney Alyssa is branching out into belts and sashes for weddings (and for those of us who don't need a reason to wear sparkle)! Also included are some of the new photos from our latest photo shoot, which will be highlighted in a separate blog post. We have been working diligently to design pieces which are elegant, classic, and FUN! And as you can see, we even used some as headbands - which will be an option going forward. So without further ado, here they are :)
Thank you again to these amazing professionals!

The smiles on our faces couldn't have been any bigger when we received Alison's wedding photos! We were honored to custom design her veil and beaded flower hair accessory, as well as the maid of honor's hair pieces. She and her maids looked absolutely stunning.

I am so delighted to exhibit part 1 of our latest photo shoot. We have so many great new products to share with you and I must start with the flower girls! It was such a pleasure working with these munchkins :) I love their sweet purity and enthusiasm for "dress up." These are girls after my own heart!
Did you know there is actually a significance behind the flower girl? Her purpose is to lead the bride forward and symbolize the innocence fading away, and her role as a mother and wife coming forward. I just love the idea of that image on your wedding day.
I want to give special thanks to the following people for making this shoot happen!

Hello! It is a special day on the blog, celebrating the 100th birthday of my great grandmother! Can you imagine the things she has seen over years? The technology, inventions, and the tragedies...she is the strongest woman I have ever met and somehow still holds her sense of humor.
To honor this huge achievement, we wanted to be creative in the theme and decorating at the party. So, we set up ten tables, one for each decade, and set up items that represented the milestones that came from those times. It was so cool to see her walking around, looking at the past and smiling. We also included photos of her life events - graduating high school, getting married, having children, even her retirement! Here are some of my favorite shots and some images showcasing the tables!
Hello! What a few weeks it has been! I'm so thrilled to share this custom head piece I did for a bride! When I first received the request, I was unsure of how it would turn out...but with some inspiration from the sister of the bride (she had it made as a surprise for her sister's bridal shower!), I began to get excited. I was honest with her that I had never constructed a "head dress" or tiara, but was willing to give it a try. She wanted something soft and romantic, but to also make a statement. I incorporated hand beaded flowers along with vintage jewelry pieces - including a beautiful cameo and pearl earrings - and used soft white feathers as the backdrop and to give it height. In the end, I was extremely pleased with the result and so was the bride :)
I love the idea of a modern twist on an old wedding tradition. It is in those small details that really give your wedding something extra. There are the big things: the dress, the food, the music...but what about the smaller elements? The guest book, the boutonnieres and corsages, or the ring bearer pillow? Through these different outlets, you have the opportunity to convey who you are as a couple, as well as give your special day that personal touch. I have done some research and these are my top picks for alternative ring bearer pillows. Enjoy!more
Every girl dreams about her big day. When you are the occasion, your updo hairstyle should be as epic as the event. It is all about you and that’s okay. There are three key items you should factor into this decision: your face shape, your personality and your dress.
You want all three to compliment each other perfectly.
Round Face - Think tall. Add some height for a wonderful slimming effect. Keep the focus on top and away from the sides. Adding height to the crown can be tricky, but when done in the right proportions, it's very glamorous
Oval Face - Any style will work. As a general rule, keep as much hair out of the face as possible. Show off those perfect proportions!
Oblong Face - Think small but full. The goal is to shorten up your face. Bangs or a...more

Well, I am happy to finally get to share an amazing photo shoot I was a part of back in November! I have been working hard to promote Whitney Alyssa accessories and knew one of the key elements of that would be to have 1. a great product and 2. great photos of that product! And look at what I got out of it, beautiful images to present to potential retailers :) I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
About the shoot: I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Patricia Rossi, a photographer located in San Jose, California (but is available all around the bay area!). She is a natural light photographer specialized in family, maternity, newborn, and children portraits. Her style is very fresh, light, and modern. Last year she found a special passion for...more
